Tensegrity Sphere

Kept me up for awhile figuring this thing out. thank goodness google video has a instructional know how

Tensegrity Sphere

superbly fun building this.
30 compression members (wooden dowels) and 30 tension members (rubber bands)

In a tensegrity structure no compression member is in direct contact with each other (neither are the tension members) therefore this model has no glued parts. Members are either in compression or tension and do not switch roles, making structure clear and defined.

Tensegrity Sphere

Inspired by tensegrity structure pioneer and artist Kenneth Snelson and the amazing Buckminister Fuller whom i look up to when i’m bored of everything else you find in school thesedays.
